Point Richmond Jazz is dedicated to the proposition that the violin, cello and all bowed strings are an integral part of jazz history. We seek to explore that history, the reasons strings are sometimes considered outsiders in the jazz world, and insuring that the violin is recognized as important to the history and future of jazz.
Our concert series provides an open window on the finest in Strings based jazz, and from time to time we will add articles and historical monographs by jazz violinist and PR JAZZ artistic director, Kit Eakle, on subjects related to these concerns. Follow the links below to view them:
